What an honor it was to attend Dominion Church’s 4th Women’s Sunday and witness the powerhouse that is Elder LaTisha Alston take the stage! She preached a sermon that shook the room, focusing on growth, self-assurance, and the strength to keep going even through life’s toughest storms. She beautifully tied her message to Luke 9:23, where Jesus reminds us:
“If anyone desires to follow me, let him deny himself, and take up his cross daily, and follow me.”
After the service, I had the incredible opportunity to go deeper with Elder Alston—to hear her heart, her journey, and how she continues to pour into others while staying grounded in faith.

Q&A with Elder LaTisha Alston
1️⃣ You're an Elder, a gospel recording artist, a grandmother, and the voice behind the single "Ruler of Everything" —all while navigating life’s storms. How have you kept your faith strong?
“Keeping my faith hasn’t always been easy… but it’s been necessary.”
From battling health issues to losing her husband and son, Elder Alston has walked through valleys most can’t imagine. But one thing remained constant: God never left her side.
“He healed me before. He kept me before. So why wouldn’t He do it again?”
Her faith wasn’t about avoiding trials—it was about trusting God through them, believing that if He allowed it, He would also bring her out.
2️⃣ . Your son, Keith Pope Jr., is now the Senior Pastor at Dominion City Church. What is it like seeing him preach from the pulpit?
“It’s simply amazing.” As a young mother, she prayed for a son and promised God she would raise him to love and serve the Lord. And wow—what a promise fulfilled! Pastor Keith now leads the congregation with anointing, power, and a voice that shakes the heavens.
“He’s a singer of singers. When he opens his mouth, yokes are destroyed.”
3️⃣ As founder of My Sister’s Keeper, you pour so much into women’s lives. How do you refill your own cup?
Elder Alston reminds us that you can’t pour from an empty cup.
She leans on trustworthy friends and spiritual leaders who pour into her, pray over her, and speak life when she needs it most.
“You need clean, pure, trustworthy tables to eat from.”– Proverbs 27:17: “Iron sharpens iron…”
4️⃣ What’s your advice for living as your authentic self?
✨ “No one can beat you at being YOU.”
Elder Alston dropped a word that we all need to hear: You are fearfully and wonderfully made. Don’t shrink to fit in. Don’t apologize for being bold, unique, or gifted.
“Walk in who God created you to be. Be confident—not cocky—but confident in your purpose and identity.”
